Concorde Agreement signed

What looked impossible just a few weeks ago has become reality with the signing of a new Concorde Agreement.

F1 Grand Prix of Hungary - Race

The new agreement, which runs through 2012, determines how the sport will be run and how the money is split.

This should put to rest months of conflict between the FIA and FOTA.

According to the governing body, an agreement has also been reached on cost cutting.

All the current teams, sans BMW Sauber, signed the new agreement. This includes new teams US F1, Campos and Manor.

Meanwhile, AUTOSPORT reports Peter Sauber is working with Mario Theissen on a rescue package for the BMW Sauber team.

Sauber said at a press conference he would do whatever is possible, but the biggest stumbling block is time. He said he is working his contacts in his capacity as an advisor to BMW, but does not wish to be back on the pitwall.

Sauber would like to see a Brawn GP-like solution, but said, like Honda last year, it is in BMW's hands. Sources say BMW Sauber has until Wednesday to sign the Concorde Agreement if the team is going to move forward.
