Bell takes over at Renault

Technical Director Bob Bell will replace Flavio Briatore as team principal at Renault for the rest of the season. He will continue as chief technical officer, as well.

Taking over as managing director is Jean-Fran├žois Caubet, director of marketing and communications.

Both will report to Bernard Rey, president of the team.

“The Renault F1 Team is now ready to concentrate on the future and wishes to stress that no further comments or statements will be issued relating to the events of Singapore 2008,” the team said in a statement on its Web site.

No guarentees, Mr. Raikkonen

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo said the team will keep the injured Felipe Massa for 2010, but made no similar commitment to its other driver, Kimi Raikkonen, the BBC reports.

“…we are mulling the best choice but we still have time. We will decide in a few weeks,” di Montezemolo is quoted, adding fuel to the rumor a deal has already been agreed to with Fernando Alonso.
