Raikkonen heads to rally

Kimi Raikkonen has agreed to a deal with Citroen’s junior rally team for 2010.

Nesta Oil Rally of Finland - Day Two

The Finn is slated to take part in 12 of 13 events for the team. It is a one-year deal.

Raikkonen was impressive in his rally debut earlier this year before crashing out in spectacular fashion.

The BBC reports Citroen announced Raikkonen will pair with Kaj Lindstrom as co-driver. Lindstrom was Tommi Makinen’s co-driver in the 90s.

Renault considers multiple suitors

Renault is considering several bids to take over it’s F1 operation in addition to Prodrive, Jonathon Noble reports for AUTOSPORT.

The French concern held a meeting yesterday considering it’s F1 future.

Noble reports an organization led by businessmen Gerard Lopez may have the edge on David Richards’ company, despite feelings within the F1 team, due in part to Bernie Ecclestone’s blessing being given to Lopez’s Genii Capital company.

Renault is due to make a formal decision following a meeting next week.

Hildebrand pleased with testing debut

American J.R. Hildebrand was happy with how things turned out after his three-day test with Force India at Jerez.

Hildebrand completed a total of 142 laps during the test.

“Looking at it from a bit of a different perspective now that it's over, it's pretty incredible to have gotten the opportunity to drive a modern Formula 1 car,” Racer quotes the American.” I felt like I made the most of my time both in and out of the car over the last week, and am very satisfied with how things turned out... It was an amazing experience to work with the Force India team.”
