Bahrain: Qualifying

Sebastian Vettel bested the Ferraris to take pole in Bahrain.

McLaren's leader, Lewis Hamilton, is a second off the pace while defending world champion Jenson Button starts eighth.

Some new guy named Schumacher is seventh, teammate Nico Rosberg continuing to have the edge for Mercedes this weekend, qualifying fifth. It's playing out much as predicted, with Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari occupying the top eight slots.

Robert Kubica leads the next group, qualifying ninth in his Renault, while among the newbies, Timo Glock was the best, starting 19th.
