Hamilton wins in Montreal, leads championship

A tire gamble did not pay off for Red Bull and McLaren complete a 1-2 finish in Canada. An obviously happy Lewis Hamilton (no doubt in part due to no challenges from teammate Jenson Button) vaults to the lead in the driver's standings.

Meanwhile, poor luck for Ferrari's Felipe Massa, who battled back from adversity only to have his front wing banged up while trying to get past Michael Schumacher and into the points. He would later be penalized additional time, but it didn't matter as he finished well back.

While he escaped penalty, Schumacher would get his, passed by both Force Indias in the waning moments and out of the points.
